Embarking 2025 — Official Program Overview
Embarking 2025 is a signature initiative of the Empowered Journey Foundation designed to broaden the horizons of outstanding students from the Mianyang region of Sichuan Province. The program provides an opportunity for selected middle school students—currently set at 15 participants per year—to travel and learn in more developed regions of China during the winter break.
Program Purpose
Many of these students excel academically and exhibit strong character, yet their oppotunities to the wider world is limited due to long-term parental absence for work and constrained family financial situations. Embarking 2025 aims to address this gap by offering meaningful experiential learning beyond their local environment.
Program Focus
The initiative emphasizes:
· Experiential Education — exposing students to diverse cities, institutions, and cultural experiences to help them understand broader social and economic contexts;
· Inspiration and Perspective — encouraging participants to envision possibilities for their future through first-hand encounters with new environments;
· Equity of Opportunity — narrowing the experiential gap faced by left-behind children in rural or less-developed areas.
Program Activities
Participants engage in:
· Educational visits to schools, museums, universities, and innovation centers;
· Cultural exploration in historically and economically significant regions;
· Group learning modules that promote teamwork, communication, and reflective thinking.
Long-Term Vision
Embarking 2025 seeks to spark curiosity, confidence, and broader aspirations in young students who have had limited opportunities to travel. By creating transformative experiences at a formative age, the program aims to cultivate a more inclusive future where every child—regardless of background—has the chance to see the wider world and imagine their place within it.
